Founded in 1985, the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra is one of the most successful and solid orchestra in China today and it has collaborated with over 100 international distinguished guest conductors and soloists, as well as top Chinese musicians. For its outstanding contributions to the Chinese symphony community, The Tianjin Symphony Orchestra was awarded with ”National Advanced Institution of Cultural Workers" and "Advanced Group in Tian Jin Cultural Institutions" by The Ministry of Culture of China.

Dr. Angela Yeung is the Director of the Music Program at the University of San Diego in California and also the Director of the University of San Diego Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Music Ensembles. Through her achievements with the University of San Diego Symphony Orchestra, in 2006 she was elected President of the Western Division of the National College Orchestra Directors Association in the United States. An accomplished cellist with special interests in early music and chamber music, Dr. Angela Yeung maintains an active career in performing and directing outside her university duties each year.

Ms. Gao Man Hua, a native of Tianjin, China, is equally at home on opera stages and in concert halls. The winner of Beijing National Voice Competition, the Bernard Poetz Memorial Award and the Schwabacher Family Award, she has sung more than 20 leading roles with many major opera houses, including the San Francisco Opera Company, the Houston Grand Opera and the Hawaii Opera Theater. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in 1986 and Lincoln Center debut in 2003. She has also been featured as a guest artist in many international arts and music festivals such as Tanglewood Festival and Stern Grove Festival.


This is their first ever collaboration not to be missed by true opera enthusiasts.
