2nd ASEAN International Concerto Competition [Category A]

Session I: 17:00-18:30, Session II: 19:30-21:00

From Nov. 1-10 2007, an important and the only truly international competition of classical music in Indonesia --- The Second ASEAN International Concerto Competition will take place. A biennial event, AICC was established in order to identify and encourage outstanding young musicians from the ASEAN region, and to assist in the development of their careers by providing them with suitable performing opportunities.

Two age categories: A; under 13 years old, and B; 13 to 18 years old will compete under a panel of distinguished jury from USA, Macedonia Japan, Korea, and chaired by its Artistic and Music Director Dr. Kuei Pin Yeo. All contestants are to compete in 3 stages: The Preliminary stage, consists of three pieces from 3 genres: Polyphonic, Etude and Classical Sonata, The Semi-Final Stage, a work of romantic era and the first movement of Concerto performed with a second piano, and the Final Stage a complete Concerto is performed with The National Symphony Orchestra of Indonesia, under the baton of its residence conductor Mr. Jap Tji Kien.

Usmar Ismail Hall is housing the Final Stage of the 2nd ASEAN International Concerto Competition.
• Six finalists from Category A are performing on Nov. 8th, 2007 at
Session I: 17:00-18:30, Session II: 19:30-21:00
• Six finalists from Category B are performing on Nov. 10th, 2007 at
Session I: 14:00-15:30, Session II: 16:30-18:00

• Gala Concert presenting the winners from both categories are performing in this Award Winning Gala Concert, on Nov. 10th, 2007 at 19:30.

All stages are opened to the public. There are also master classes, seminar by the jurors opened to the public during the Competition week.
