Global warming is real, its impacts can already be seen and everyone, everywhere needs to take action now to confront the climate crisis. Bali resident Emerald Starr will bring that message to the Usmar Ismail Hall on 18 July when he will present the global warming slide show painstakingly developed by The Hon. Al Gore and as reflected in the book and award-winning Paramount Films documentary – An Inconvenient Truth.

Emerald Starr is one of nearly 1,000 citizens that have been trained by The Climate Project to deliver this science-based presentation. They were selected from a pool of thousands of applicants and have agreed to deliver this important message to the community. The Climate Project presenters intend to reach more than a million audience members in 2007. Admission is free.

“We are at a turning point in human history on Earth,” said Starr. “Our actions now will determine the quality of life for our children and many generations to come. There is not an issue more critical for us to take action on,” said Starr. “I want to do all that I can to insure the health and well being of my children and grandchildren. In ten years I want to be able to look back with pride and satisfaction that I did everything that I could do. Those attending will have the opportunity to understand the significance of this issue and learn how they can be part of the solution.”
